Foods that help you sleep!


Relaxation techniques like deep breathing or having a bedtime routine can help you sleep, but nutrition is one of the most important things you have to take care of, if you want to sleep better.  You can eat certain foods to beat insomnia. The following items will help you sleep the same 7-8 hours, but you will feel more energized and refreshed.

Apple:

Eat an apple as a bedtime snack. Hunger is a known sleep robber, so if you eat something light before you go to bed, you will sleep like a baby. 

Honey-lemon tea:

This tea is highly praised for its medicinal value. The mixture of honey and lemon will make you feel comfortable and it is also a good stress reliever. 

Kiwi:

Kiwis are full of vitamins C, E, serotonin, and other vitamins that improve your wellbeing. A research from Taipei Medical University in Taiwan, shows that when volunteers ate two kiwis, an hour before bedtime, they slept for a full extra hour. 

Protein foods that are rich in tryptophan:

Tryptophan is an amino acid that helps boost melatonin, a sleep-inducing hormone. Chicken, turkey, milk, dairy, nuts, and seeds are all good choices to get tryptophan and have better nights.
